TCA-YWAM Austin DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING COURSE      June 25, 2017 Topic: HEALING with Jesus (Compiled by Jon Dorris) (Permission granted for anyone to use freely)   Intro   -God wants us all to see how simple healing the sick really is   -Jesus paid for all healing at the Cross           -1 Pet. 2:24   -Q – Is it “God’s will” to heal everyone?           -Acts 10:38 – Read it           -YES!!!   -Mk. 16:15-20 Main Point is Jesus sent His Believers out to Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation. -“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My Name … they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” -Therefore all of us, who believe, should be healing the sick! -The Disciples OBEYED – Acts 3:1-8, 12, 16  -And now it is OUR TURN!   -Q. Do you want to be part of Jesus radically advancing His Kingdom?           -I CERTAINLY DO EX – 2005 stats reveal that 3000 people get saved every 25 minutes on earth.           -YOU CAN BE A PART OF THAT!           -Many of these got saved AFTER THEY WERE HEALED.   A. God’s Love should always be our motive           1. Matthew 9:35-38 READ IT                     -Jesus felt compassion on the people because they were distressed                     -So He healed every kind of disease and every kind of sickness                     -vs 37-38 Now he wants all of us to go do it. PRAY: Father send our labors into the harvest, INCLUDING US.             2. 1 Corinthians 13:2b, 4-8a. LOVE never fails.   -We have spent a lot of DTC time on letting God love through us so lets move on.               B. God/Jesus HEALS through us, so TRUST Him to come through when we minister healing to the sick.   1. God has submitted Himself to the context of partnership with mankind. -Therefore we either RELATIONALLY REIGN with Him, or we ABDICATE our authority in Christ.   EX. TORNADO – My friend cried to God to move tornado. God said YOU do it, and he did.   EX. TCA’s La Feria Team commanded thunderstorm to move AND IT DID (Twice)                      -Matthew 10:7-8 Jesus told us to GO HEAL THE SICK           2. God wants to do everything WITH US                     John 15:4-5, 7-8 EX. In our La Feria Team prayer times, we kept asking Jesus to Love and Live through us           -HE DID!             3. Q. What is the difference between Belief and Faith?                    -BELIEF is in information                    -FAITH is trust in someone (JESUS!)                 -Faith goes the extra “action” step = causes things to happen EX. I believed Tanya is a great Mother to our kids           -But my actions reflected that I trusted/had faith in her to be a good Mother.           -Remember the demons believe in Jesus and shudder.               4. DOUBT & UNBELIEF are our greatest enemies. FIGHT THEM.                     -Being skeptical – “I don’t believe that”. “I don’t believe that will work”.   5. Jesus lived a lifestyle of always trusting the Holy Spirit living through Him                    -He did this as an example for how we should rely on Holy Spirit           -Holy Spirit is the power source                    1). Born again – Holy Spirit lives inside you                              -Rivers of living water flows from with in you. (John 4:14)                    2). Baptism of Holy Spirit – Power comes upon you for ministry like healing (Acts 1:8)                    3). Daily staying filled with the Holy Spirit – time with him in Word and prayer, and obeying Him. Living in Spirit (and not grieving HS) (Eph.5:18)           C. How to Heal the Sick – Practical application           1. Simply Trust in Jesus, the Healer to come through                    -Jesus is the healer in and through you           2. Just obey Word, and lay hands on the sick and EXPECT Jesus to heal.                    -Never stop practicing this – enemy will try to intimidate you to quit.           3. Remember Jesus said YOU heal the sick, not pray and ask God to do it.                    -Therefore we are COMMANDING not PRAYING for people to be healed in Jesus Christ’s Name.                    -Command in Jesus’ NAME.                              -He gave us His authority. Use His name                              -Command out loud – not silent in your head                              -Luke 10:19           4. Be persistent until healing manifests – Command as many times as you need to                    -Jesus ministered healing 2 times to blind man before eyes healed              -Mark 11:22-24 – Believe is its ALREADY DONE = it shall come to pass           -If you have to leave before manifestation – KEEP STANDING IN FAITH EX. Many times I have received my healing later that day, or the next morning, etc.                     5. After you command to be healed – have person do something they could not do                    -Faith has actions that say I believe it happened.                              -But it also tests to see if you have to command again.           6. If no healing, take authority over spirit(s) of infirmity and kick them out                    in Jesus’ Name.                    -Then minister healing again.                    -Many times a demon was blocking healing. EX. – God opened my eyes to see demon in Farm House office, then it hit me in chest, But I said: NO YOU DON’T – LEAVE NOW – IT DID INSTANTLY.             7. Q. What happens if the person does NOT get healed?                    -Mt. 11:28-30 -You must ALWAYS cast cares like that on Jesus and let go of them -If you carry them you will quit praying for the sick. -It’s Jesus’ reputation on the line – its His responsibility.                 -Your main job was to love – and you did by obeying and ministering to them           8. Grow your relationship with God (and therefore your faith in Him)                    -Learn about other hindrances to healing   EX. Loren in UT Shamanism class.           -Girl’s boyfriend’s broken arm healed           -Girl got saved           -Loren studied Bible in Girl’s apartment   Conclusion – Lets practice – Is there any sick person here? (Have volunteer pray)   Invitation: 3 areas of Holy Spirit for us.
