TCA-YWAM Austin DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING COURSE      August 13, 2017 Topic: Are we EXPERIENCING God’s LOVE? (Compiled by Jon Dorris) (Permission granted for anyone to use freely)   Intro   How do we know God is real?   Can we experience God or do we have to just trust His Bible?           (Both)   Where do you need God right now in your life?   You can experience God!   And you should trust God in His Bible.   Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Especially in ways you tangibly need Him.   God is giving many people of other religions dreams proving Jesus to be God   God loves His human creation dearly and longs to reveal Himself to those who turn toward Him.   What exactly is the Gospel? Let’s review but IT IS MUCH MORE   -Romans 10:11-13 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”             Ro. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.             Ro. 5:8-10 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.             Ro. 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.           (for more read Isaiah 53)   This is the Door to God, through Jesus Christ’s finished work at Cross   http://arcog.church/cvglobal/?page=gospel&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiLDMBRDFARIsACNmiX_Jptg51D95nO08gjn-DQvRTdi6TXKeaM2NwjKzt1ZAYRAg4zb7qRQaAjlNEALw_wcB   Once you go through the door THE GOSPEL JUST GETS BETTER   START LEARNING THE BENEFITS: -who is God and -what God wants to do for you -what God wants you to do with YOU in Life   Hosea 4:6  “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:…”   One way He wants you to EXPERIENCE Him, is through His Names   -His Names show us what He is like and how we can connect with Him by FAITH.   -Heb. 11:6 is a must – but then He will come through.    “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”   Let’s go through His names and what they mean to us -Pay attention to these because we will break into small groups and discuss:           -Either:                    -Have you seen God manifest Himself to you according to what one of His names means? OR                    -What way(s) would you like God to manifest Himself to you as? (Use card under your seat to write answer – while you listen)           -Then someone pray that all in group will experience God this week in these ways of His Name.   -DISCLAIMER: Sometimes God may want to accomplish something before He reveals Himself as one of His names           -Ask Him to accomplish whatever that is so He can manifest His name to you.           (-Ask Him what needs to come first, and what is YOUR part in that.)   EX. The Prodigal Son in the Bible just wanted to rebel against what was good and right, SO HE STAYED BLIND to THE FATHERS LOVE FOR HIM until he turned from that rebellious way and searched for Truth     REMEMBER: -Jer. 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”   -Don’t let enemy lie to you  -    -coming in future, we will deal with the BATTLE OF WHAT WE BELIEVE.   -EX. God gets blamed for things that are not Him, when it’s the reaping from our sin or someone else’s sins   God’s Names and their meaning FOR US -I sometimes use these names to praise him in my prayer time with Him   1. Jehovah Agape – God is LOVE 1 John 4:7-9 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.” (Galatians 2:20)   2. Adonai – God is LORD Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?”   3. Elohim – God, Creator of all, that we are in covenant with through Jesus Christ. Genesis 9:9 “Now behold, I Myself do establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you.”   4.
