Our
Vision
Is
to be Friends of God and the Family of God together as One.
John
15:12-17 “This is My commandment, that you love one
another, just as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that
one lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know
what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things
that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that
you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would
remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to
you. 17 This I command you, that you love one
another…”
Our Mission
Is
to gather together, in Jesus’ Name, and grow in our relationship with God and
one another, by learning and implementing His Word by the power of Holy Spirit.
John
8:31-32 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had
believed Him, “If you
continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of
Mine; 32 and you
will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Our Values
-We value
relationship with God and one another as God’s Family.
-We value
obeying God by yielding to Holy Spirit, and relying on Him for
everything.
Phil. 2:12-13 So then, my beloved, just as you have always
obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out
your salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to
will and to work for His good pleasure.
-We value
worshipping God in spirit and truth, therefore we value learning
how to worship God correctly.
John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must
worship in spirit and truth.”
Acts 13:22 After He had removed him, He
raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said,
‘I have found
David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do
all My will.’
-We value the
Kingdom of God and it’s main facets: Faith, Hope, and Love.
-We value
instruction in the Word of God, the blueprint for all of life,
therefore, we will endeavor to daily read/study God’s Word.
Phil. 1:9-11 And this I pray, that your love may abound
still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may [a]approve the things that are excellent, in order
to be sincere and blameless [b]until the day of Christ; 11 having been filled with the fruit of
righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory
and praise of God.
Phil. 2:16
-We value
caring for each other deeply, therefore we value building deep
and open/vulnerable (confidentially) sharing with each other
and praying for one another, so that we may grow in Christ.
Phil. 2:2-4 make my joy complete by being of the same
mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty
conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important
than yourselves; 4 do
not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also
for the interests of others.
-We value
building a culture of honoring one another, therefore we will learn
how and practice it.
-We value
God’s heart desire for us to live in fellowship with God’s Family,
therefore, we value our strong, consistent commitment to
God’s Kingdom at TCA’s Family Fellowship.
-We value
Jesus modeling for us how to serve and love one another,
therefore, we endeavor to learn how and practice this towards
each other.
-We value
God’s authority system and His Fathering/Mothering-
Son/Daughter ship of the generations, therefore we value
honoring our leaders, parents, and mentors.
-We value
God’s desire that we grow in our Christ-like character in all areas
of our life, therefore we will help each other “press on” to diligent,
consistent growth as disciple’s of Christ.
Phil. 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good
work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
-We value
“servant leadership”, therefore we will obtain and practice
leadership trainings and demonstrate Godly character before
we ask to be in leadership (as per the TCA Levels of Leadership Character
Guidelines).
Phil. 2:5-8 Have this attitude in yourselves which was
also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of
God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of
a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He
humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.
Phil. 3:12-14 Not that I
have already obtained it or have already become
perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which
also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid
hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting
what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of
the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
-We value
leading by being a living example of God’s truth. (Live it first then
you can lead by example.)
Phil. 3:17-20 Brethren, join in following my example, and
observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. 18 For many walk, of whom I often told you, and
now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies
of the cross of Christ, 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite,
and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on
earthly things. 20 For our citizenship
is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus
Christ;
-We value
God’s heart desire that the whole world come into His Kingdom,
therefore, we will prayerfully seek God’s mission assignments
for TCA, and walk them out in Oneness and unity with the Body of Christ.
Our Goals
1. To build a
God-honoring worship team that can lead TCA English into
God’s Presence through worshipping in spirit and truth.
(Hopefully by
fall semester 2019 – with proper levels of Biblical character
demonstrated)
2. To build a
culture of a loving, caring English Fellowship that we can invite
our friends to. (By beginning of fall 2019 Semester)
3. To seek God
for His mission/cause assignment for TCA English Fellowship,
and then build it into place (by first training and raising
up Leaders to staff it). (By end of 2019.) (Example: adopt a current mission in
Monterey Mexico. Help an existing partner in Nepal.)
What would the
world look like if everyone was looking out for the other person’s best
interest? That is where the Kingdom of God is headed.
Today’s discussion Question:
Pick at least
one VALUE you really want to see lived out here at TCA’s English Fellowship.
And then share Why with your small group.
