TCA-YWAM Austin     April 29, 2018 Topic: HOPE is Your dear Friend (Compiled by Jon Dorris) (Permission granted for anyone to use freely) Your assignment and discussion Q – What is your greatest HOPE?        1. Secret one between you and God (keep this for later to talk to God about it, alone with just Him)        2. One you can share and discuss with your small group        3. What will you do when things look HOPELESS? -What are some of your greatest hopes in life?        (Get at least 5 to share) -Have you ever been discouraged and thought these hopes will never come to pass? -Jon share – 1989-1998 Many times I wondered if our Nepal mission call would ever come to pass -I want to tell you a STORY today about a very poor girl in Uganda. Her name is Phiona.   (-3 Pics of Phiona in early poverty life – NO HOPE) -Do you have dreams or desires that you have lost hope about? -Have you felt like Phiona? “There is no way out of this mess” Main Point: -For a Christian there is always Hope, -Hope is the anchor for our soul, no matter what’s happening in life. -Because our hope and faith are anchored in God’s faithfulness.        -The God that gave us His 7000+ covenant promises -Hope is the foundation that faith can build on = manifested promises. (pic of Robert Katende – Gave up engineering job to provide HOPE for a better life for the poor in Uganda, Phiona and others) Whether you are like Robert or Phiona, HOPE is your anchor -Heb. 6:10-12 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints. 11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Who guarantees these promises? Heb. 6:13-15 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you.” And so, having patiently waited, he (Abraham) obtained the promise. -(Pic of Robert believing in the teens and calling them Pioneers) -(Pic of Phiona with HOPE beginning to arise) -(Pic of Robert introducing Phiona to the game of chess) -Heb. 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. -HOPE must be followed with FAITH.        -FAITH adds ACTION to HOPE. The STORY of Abraham        -Romans 4:13, 16-17 -EX- my 2 elder friends repented of putting their trust in retirement fund = black Monday wiped out a couple decades of accumulation. -EX-Jim R. – God said give away your retirement (it was only 2 years worth) and trust Me to provide your retirement -(Work through: -Romans 4:18-25 -EX- April 26- God’s revelation came as I was asking Him what message he wanted for you TCA (today’s HOPE message). -EX-Jon Mt. 6:33 God assuring me He can fulfill my hope to have retirement fund accumulated for T and I.        -The rev was because “you are seeking first my kingdom and all My righteousness then I (God) can and will add your reward protected in heaven but also a healthy abundant retirement provision for you and T and for you to leave an inheritance to your children’s children. Loose it from the heavenly realms where it is protected from moth, rust, black Mondays, to flow on earth as you need it. -Matthew 6:33  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. -What happened to Phiona? -Pic – Robert taught the Youth Pioneers winning chess strategies -Pic- Robert believed in Phiona and spend time coaching her -Pic-Phiona had setbacks but never gave up HOPE. -Pic – Phiona entered her destiny as a WINNING PIONEER YOUTH -Pic – She also won HOPE for her people and Uganda -Pic – You too are Pioneer Winners –Never give up HOPE! -Let me PRAY FOR YOU.
